I'm new to Church

If you are new to "church" or the notion of "organized religion", let us make things a little more simple to understand. We try to make things as simple as possible. We view the church more like a family than a business. We believe that God intended the Church to be people who gather together to bless and help other people and to do so pleases God.

Because of what we believe about the love and goodness and awesomeness of God, we adore Him with our words and songs, thoughts and prayers. We call this "Worship".  We get together on Sunday mornings because that is the day that Christian Churches all over the world have historically gathered to "worship" God.  At these gatherings, we also hear a "sermon", a brief speech that helps us know more about God, as revealed in the Bible. Our "sermons" are centered on what the Bible says, and not what some human thinks. We believe that this protects us from errors in our thinking. A good sermon helps you learn something new about God while helping you feel closer to Him.

There is also a time in this service every Sunday morning where we collect an "offering". These are donations made by church members to the ongoing work of the church.  We also participate in "communion". Communion is a solemn, serious and quiet ceremony where we pass small pieces of bread and small cups of grape juice around to every person. This ceremony is open to everyone who has professed faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. We make this available. We make no determination of anyone's worthiness or qualification to participate.  It is between you and God.  We use this ceremony to remember what Jesus did for each of us on the cross and how we might be more like Him in our own daily lives.

If you attend one of our worship services, I know you will feel a warm welcome with us. We are just regular, flawed ordinary people who have been saved by an extra-ordinary Savior! Everyday we hope to reflect His love to everyone around us.
